Better go fast fore the wine catches up with me Fifteen minutes until I lose my speed Here it comes, special delivery It's a song to sing while walking The dog around the circle This is the life that you built out of me Steve gave you every tape that he could spare And garbage bags packed full of things to wear Old tshirts make you wish that you were there And you sing it when you're walking The dog around the circle This is the life co-workers didn't dare But they could have if you could You couldn't sing that good And it's mostly just about making the calls And every Thursday night Another band that sounds alright Writ in Sharpie on the green room walls It's Thursdays for us all Better get rid of the post you made last night Your boss, averse to controversy, has you in her sights And nothing worse than justify your rights Give it to em when you're walking The dog around the circle This is the life since you gave up the fight

Scattered on the road broken bottle glass frisbee stamped in white graduating class mom already gone dad was fading fast On this bend, nothing A rising in the road Just before the curve Seven years ago Everybody heard The same kind of lament the self-same last words the same men came to sweep it What's scary is It isn't haunted No markers, memorials No one watching Every fifty yards There ought to be a ghost standing sentry Reminding everyone just a stretch of road haunted not at all on this bend, nothing

Flow West the Nile of the frozen North Down a piece a house, wraparound front porch Where the healing sun drops beneath the waves And your dad taught you not to miss these days (Mascis lead) Tell me you'll always be here That's what I need Kinda like the time had me on your back Carrying your kid round the walking track And the autumn leaves cover up the plot Share it like a band, it's all I've got Relax, there's more time, at least another year And room in this chair Tell me you'll always be here That's what I need

Dollhouses 03:25
Even here I could hear the ticking In the town we knew it couldn't be Now that we're surrounded good and loud That sound found me, cracked records spinning, And it's made a home Just give me one thing I am good at Where I see reflected only skill And it's not about what's left unfinished That day I will drum with the ticking And tolling of the bell Orange leaves, dollars on the grass to rot Beat a path downstairs to the grandfather clock And I'm pretty sure it's there right now So drag back out the way you came in Part of me is staying

I let you down, you should have seen it coming You've been around long enough to know That everybody lives and everybody learns Everybody touches, everybody burns, And everybody, everybody, everybody gets a turn Color the curses blue and orange, both favorites of mine Paint your pictures, sketch the animals Old buildings photograph well But no one makes a case your you, you make your own Patience, little man, it's almost time to go And everybody, everybody, everybody seems to know Last time around, look out for your own thing You're patient now, coming around so soon But everybody lives and everybody learns Everybody touches, everybody burns, Barely make the list of practical concerns And everybody, everybody, everybody gets a turn I let you down, you should have seen it coming You've been around long enough to know That everybody lives and everybody learns Everybody touches, everybody burns, And everybody, everybody, everybody, Everybody, everybody, everybody, Everybody, everybody, everybody gets a turn

There's nought but care on ev'ry han' In every hour that passes, O What signifies the life o' man An' 'twere na for the lasses, O Green grow the rashes, O Green grow the rashes, O The sweetest hours that e'er I spent I spent amang the lasses, O The war'ly race may riches chase An' riches still may fly them, O An' tho' at last they catch them fast Their hearts can ne'er enjoy them, O Green grow the rashes, O Green grow the rashes, O The sweetest hours that e'er I spent I spent amang the lasses, O But gie me a cannie hour at e'en My arms about my Dearie, O An' warly cares, an' warly men May a' gae tapsalteerie, O Green grow the rashes, O Green grow the rashes, O The sweetest hours that e'er I spent I spent amang the lasses, O Auld Nature swears, the lovely Dears Her noblest work she classes, O Her prentice han' she try'd on man An' then she made the lasses, O Green grow the rashes, O Green grow the rashes, O The sweetest hours that e'er I spent I spent amang the lasses, O

about

An Army of Jasons crafts beautiful, unpredictable guitar pop. On This Bend marks the group's return to music making after a decade-plus-long hiatus. A varied smattering of modern psychedelia, classic country, and early 90s college rock soundtracks the bleak, often funny lyrical landscapes of singer/songwriter Geoff Hayton.
